How many floating homes are left on Lake Union?

To be honest, there are exactly 507 historically recognized floating homes, and local laws prevent any new ones from ever being constructed. So, you buy what is available and live in it or demo it down to the studs and rebuild.

So, to answer the question of the 507 active Floating Homes scattered throughout Lake Union, Eastlake and Portage Bay there are always a few on the market. As with any neighborhood older adults age out and homes become available. There are as many reason for selling as there is for purchasing one. Life on the lake is a unique way to live in Seattle.
